Please join us for an afternoon with amazing girls, just like you, to learn about the lives, hopes, and dreams of some equally amazing girls living in Haiti. The girls are members of Colorado Haiti Project's (CHP) Girls’ Empowerment and Mentoring program, also known as GEM.

We will gather in downtown Denver, at the Posner Center for International Development where Jackie Martin (CHP Board Director) and Elizabeth Dowling (CHP Associate Board Member) will share what they have learned about the lives of girls and young women in Haiti.  They will also share personal accounts and stories from the girls in GEM to help introduce them to you (please visit our Day in the Life blog to read about Roodnaelle and Darline, two GEM leaders who you will hear more about on the 30th).

We will spend much of our 90 minutes together getting to know one another! We will also brainstorm how we can work together in the coming year to support our sisters in Haiti (and each other) in confronting issues young women face globally.  At the end of the meeting, you will be invited to become a Girls’ Empowerment Ambassador, and we will make plans for our next meetings together.

If you are a parent or adult who would like to help support the Girls’ Empowerment Ambassadors throughout the year, please consider joining Jackie and Elizabeth at 1pm at the Posner Center so we can think together about how we can best support the Ambassadors, the girls in GEM, and the future of both programs. Please feel free to bring your daughters. We will have activities available for them while the adults meet.

Please sign-up here. We hope to see you there! Parents, you are invited to stay and participate in the meeting if you would like, or you are more than welcome to drop your young ambassador off if that is more convenient for you.
