The word “Konbit” is a Kreole word meaning “to gather together for a community project.” The Colorado Haiti project started the Konbit Sponsorship Program in 1996 to provide education, meals, and health care to the children of the Chevalier/Petit Trou de Nippes communities.
The goals of the Konbit program are being accomplished through the generosity of sponsors. Today, not even half of our 370 children are being sponsored which limits our ability to support this growing school.
For only $25.00 per month, you can provide a child with school books and supplies, school uniforms, tuition, and a hot lunch. For many of these children, the meal they have at St. Paul’s school is their only meal all day.
Your sponsorship will be pooled with other sponsor’s donations to ensure the education and care of all the children at St. Paul’s school. When you sponsor a child, you will receive a photo and some information about your child. You will also receive quarterly newsletters about the Colorado Haiti Project’s work at St. Paul’s.
Or you can choose to contribute whatever amount you are able directly to the school. These contributions are used to purchase school equipment each year, such as blackboards, chalk, benches, etc. Every bit helps bring these children closer to their dream of graduating and continuing their education.
Help our neighbor, Haiti, help themselves sponsor a child. When you sponsor a child’s education, you are sponsoring a better future for the nation. Click here to donate online.
