Throughout its 25-year relationship with the community of Petit Trou de Nippes, the Colorado Haiti Project has recognized the outsized impact of helping local leaders realize their professional goals. The CHP Scholarship Fund for Professional Studies was created to identify ambitious students in the community and offer them the financial support necessary to obtain a professional degree; an investment that yields great change in the community as a whole. Scholarship recipients are required to design and lead community service projects in the Nippes region each summer that they are enrolled in their program. Furthermore, they promise to launch their careers in Petit Trou de Nippes and remain there for 3-5 years post graduation. A gift to the Scholarship Fund promises to empower individuals, their community and Haitian institutions of higher learning as powerful agents of social and economic change.
