Annual Fund
We use Annual Fund donations to meet a variety of needs, and over the past year have drawn upon the undesignated funds our supporters have sent for a variety of special projects and emergency needs at the St. Paul's Mission:
- Emergency food and fuel in the aftermath of natural disasters.
- Emergency food and fuel funds in response to food shortages and skyrocketing food prices.
- Emergency repair of the St. Paul's Mission generator.
- Replacement of the Mission's one copier machine.
- Support for the Women's Vocational Programs, which train 60 young women in government-issued certificate degree programs in professional tailoring and professional cooking/catering. Graduates from these courses have all the tools they need for lives of dignity and self-sufficiency, including graduation gifts of sewing machines or kitchen equipment and utensils.
- Support for our Health Initiative Education Missions, which instruct women volunteers in Petit Trou de Nippes in personal hygiene, safety practices, and water filter usage. These volunteers are then trained to train other women, in an ongoing "training cascade" designed to reach all the households in Petit Trou de Nippes.
- Annual support for the Episcopal Seminary of Haiti in Port-au-Prince. At the Seminary, Dean Oge Beauvoir is training the next generation of leaders like Father Kesner Gracia, the leader of our Mission in Petit Trou de Nippes.
